Your questions answered

Why is Kantar doing this?

The World Audiences Summit is Kantar’s flagship event exploring the forces and opportunities transforming media measurement. Whilst we had planned to come together in Rome in September, the ongoing uncertainty around international travel regulations has led us to change our plans.

The 2021 Summit, from 7–9 September, will take place as a unique hybrid event and I hope you’ll still be able to participate. Through a mixture of online and physical components, we’ll deliver a summit experience like no other!

We recognise how valuable The Summit is to our clients. We hope this imaginative contingency plan will still give much to interest, inspire and consider, both to inform your own growth plans and to sow the seeds of conversation when we meet in person in 2022.

I’m getting invitations to lots of webinars whilst working from home – why should I attend The World Audiences Summit?

Our 2021 hybrid event is not a webinar series!

Leaders from some of the world’s largest advertisers, content platforms and agencies will gather in a unique three-day event that attempts to bring the hallmarks of the physical Summit within the comfort of your own workspace.

As you may have experienced at our previous summits, there will be a mix of formats and interactive sessions designed to further debate and seek answers to some of the industry’s most pertinent questions.

Can my team join in? I think they’d find it beneficial.

Our 2021 hybrid format follows the same spirit as the in-person event with a carefully constructed programme and participation by invitation only.

To maintain a balance of voices from different parts of the industry and an appropriate representation of geographies, invitations should not be forwarded to any other individual. If you have a recommendation for someone who could contribute to the conversation, please contact us.

The time is a bit inconvenient for me – can I listen to the sessions on demand?

In each of the last nine Summit events we have observed ‘Chatham House Rules’ to enable the outputs of the event to be shared afterwards, but for the source of the information or point of view to be undisclosed.

We are committed to maintaining the same principles in this extraordinary year and to facilitate an open, high-quality discussion within a closed environment. In this spirit we will not be circulating recordings of sessions, but will work with presenters to share other materials after the live event.

When’s the next in-person (physical) Summit?

We’re championing the return to live events and have worked collaboratively with our partners to bring next year’s Summit forward to 29–31 March 2022. Please hold these dates in your diary. We hope these dates offer more room for the climate to improve but we will of course remain nimble.

It will be more important than ever to bring the global media community together in person and we look forward to recreating our unique experience.
